Trunk Club for Women: Fall 2017

Trunk CLub for Women Fall 2017 ||

Fall may not be my favorite season but it is my favorite season to dress for. Who doesn’t love layering up in over-sized tunics, boots, and cozy sweaters? It’s still 90 degrees outside but that doesn’t matter – I wasted no time requesting a fall trunk from my stylist. She sent basic fall staples as well as a few trendy pieces as well: lets take a look!

Trunk Club:

1. Sign up and take a very brief style survey. You’ll fill out a personal profile and provide your stylist with links to your Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

2. Your stylist will handpick a selection of items for you to review online. After you provide your feedback, and your trunk is finalized, it’s shipped directly to your house.

3. You have 5 days to try on and decide on which items to keep. They provide you with shipping labels and tape strips so when you’re ready to ship the rest back, you schedule a pickup with UPS.

4. Fees: A $25 home try-on fee is charged to your account per trunk and this cash is credited towards any purchase you make.

What to Expect:

Your stylist is YOURS. Like, forever. She (or he) will want to get to know you. My stylist sent me an email with very specific style questions. Additionally, your stylist will expect communication via a telephone call, which I thought was required but others have said they didn’t have to participate in this part of this service (I could have done without). On the other hand, if that’s your thing, you can call your stylist whenever you want.

The clothing inventory is pulled from NORDSTROM, so there’s a vast selection at a wide range of price points. Be sure to point out to your stylist where you’d like to stay, price-wise or you will receive a $300 cashmere sweater.

You will be sent 10-15 pieces ranging from tops, bottoms, shoes, scarves, and accessories. Really, ask for anything. During your preview you can remove items from your trunk and they won’t be sent. Your stylist may add new items for you before sending so some of what you receive is a surprise.

Ask for a trunk whenever you want. This is more of a concierge service than a scheduled delivery. If requesting a trunk for a specific event allow enough time for communication and for your stylist to pull pieces and ship.

A sincere huge THANK YOU to all those that have allowed me to refer them! I hope you are all loving this service, I’d love to hear back from you about what you received and what you thought!

First lets take a look at what I didn’t photograph:

I love AG jeans but this particular pair didn’t flatter my shorter frame. I find this to be true of most boyfriend jeans so I think I’ll leave this style for the tall lean women of the world. Now the jackets: the fleece was very comfortable but not worth the price. The bomber is a great jacket – just not a trend that I am interested in trying. And lastly, the “perfect” jacket was actually more like a mess of a jacket. It just looked wrinkly and untailored.

BLANKNYC Suede Moto Jacket: Returned

Normally I’d be hesitant to try a jacket in a color so vibrant but this is exactly what Trunk Club is for. Once I had the jacket at home in my hands I was blown away by how perfect and rich this looked in person. The jacket itself was a size too small for me and that’s the only reason why I returned it. It does come in several colors that are perfect for fall and I highly recommend!

Cowl Neck Sweater Poncho: Kept

Warm – check. Cozy – check. Oversized – check. Favorite fall color – check. This was a keeper for sure. I’ll layer a long sleeved tee underneath during the winter and wear this throughout the next several months.

Kathrina Boots by Vince Camuto: Returned

The deeper v-cut detail along the ankle is what attracted me to these boots. I also loved the block heel and of course a black bootie is a fall closet staple. I didn’t end up keeping these because I didn’t love how pointy the toe is but I am definitely now on the look-out for a pair with similar ankle detail!

High-Low V-Neck Sweater by Caslon: Kept

Again, this sweater is another fall staple and I couldn’t help but keep it. It’s a great piece just on its own or it could be layered.

Sophie Cable Sweater by Wayf: Returned

As fun as it is to try new trends I am once again convinced that ruffles just aren’t for me. I love how they look on other women but when I m wearing them all I can see and think about are the ruffles!

Print V-neck Top by Hinge: Returned
Ankle Skinny with Raw Hem by 7 for all Mankind: Returned

The printed blouse was pretty and there is basically nothing wrong with it. I simply just didn’t need it so I sent it back. If I were still working in an office setting I would probably have kept it.

As with the boots – I was intrigued by the v-cut along the ankle and the uneven hem on these skinny jeans. I was also excited to try 7 for all Mankind jeans because I’ve heard so many great things about them. Unfortunately I was unimpressed with this particular pair. As you can see they don’t fit me well. They tended to wrinkle and create ruffles along my legs in all sorts of awkward places.

Long Sleeve Cashmere Crew by Halogen: Kept

Make a sweater out of cashmere and I’m in! It’s so soft! But really, the color is great and I can use it for layering in the winter so I was sold.

Dafni Crossbody by Vince Camuto: Kept

This bag just reeks of fall. It’s the perfect color and size with lots of pretty details and options for wearing.
