Trunk Club for Women: March 2017

Trunk Club for Women Review ||

One of the great things about Trunk Club is that you can request a trunk whenever you want or your stylist can send you a trunk whenever she finds a bunch of pieces she just knows you’ve been looking for! That’s what this little surprise trunk was all about. Earlier this fall and winter I let my stylist know I was on the hunt for faux leather leggings, a leather jacket, and a blush handbag. Most recently I suggested I was in the mood for transition-to-spring pieces. As new stock was updated she sent me an email one evening that she was able to round up some great things for me and sent them my way! Find out how I made out below.

Trunk Club:

1. Sign up and take a very brief style survey. You’ll fill out a personal profile and provide your stylist with links to your Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

2. Your stylist will handpick a selection of items for you to review online. After you provide your feedback, and your trunk is finalized, it’s shipped directly to your house.

3. You have 5 days to try on and decide on which items to keep. They provide you with shipping labels and tape strips so when you’re ready to ship the rest back, you schedule a pickup with UPS.

4. Fees: A $25 home try-on fee is charged to your account per trunk and this cash is credited towards any purchase you make.

What to Expect:

Your stylist is YOURS. Like, forever. She (or he) will want to get to know you. My stylist sent me an email with very specific style questions. Additionally, your stylist will expect communication via a telephone call, which I thought was required but others have said they didn’t have to participate in this part of this service (I could have done without). On the other hand, if that’s your thing, you can call your stylist whenever you want.

The clothing inventory is pulled from NORDSTROM, so there’s a vast selection at a wide range of price points. Be sure to point out to your stylist where you’d like to stay, price-wise or you will receive a $300 cashmere sweater.

You will be sent 10-15 pieces ranging from tops, bottoms, shoes, scarves, and accessories. Really, ask for anything. During your preview you can remove items from your trunk and they won’t be sent. Your stylist may add new items for you before sending so some of what you receive is a surprise.

Ask for a trunk whenever you want. This is more of a concierge service than a scheduled delivery. If requesting a trunk for a specific event allow enough time for communication and for your stylist to pull pieces and ship.

A sincere huge THANK YOU to all those that have allowed me to refer them! I hope you are all loving this service, I’d love to hear back from you about what you received and what you thought!

First, here’s what I didn’t photograph:

trunkclubspring20171Maddox Boyfriend Denim Jacket | Stripe High/Low Blouse

DL1961 Maddox Boyfriend Denim Jacket: This was a basic denim jacket – loved the light, slightly worn wash. Wish it was just 1 inch longer. I do already have a denim jacket so I opted to send this one back.

1. State Stripe High/Low Blouse: You know, the  longer I look at this blouse the more I like it. Initially the print didn’t appeal to me and I thought it looked like it was a pajama top. There is a little pop of blue in the pattern, which you can’t see in the photo.

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings: Returned

It nearly killed me to send these back. You’ll see why I did below but understand that it wasn’t because I didn’t want them. These have a metallic print that give them the appearance of leather without all the extra thick material. For me, the best part was that these were made by spanx so they were super flattering – even around my trouble areas. They are certainly still on my wishlist and I’ll be reconsidering them next fall.

Trouve Leather Moto Jacket: Kept
Sam Edelman Mia Calfskin Satchel: Returned

I mean, obviously I kept the jacket. How could I not? It looks great but in addition to that it’s buttery soft and I just couldn’t pass up the lingering leather smell that came with putting this on. I will have this jacket forever and I plan to give it lots of life and memories.

The purse was lovely and perfectly-sized for me. There was a detachable scarf detail on the front that I didn’t photograph (I wasn’t totally into that but loved the purse without it). It’s been such a long time since I asked for a blush handbag that I’ve already purchased a more affordable option.

Gibson Cozy Fleece Peplum Top: Returned

This fleece top delicately blended two great trends: peplum and bell sleeves. It was really soft and cozy. Though I wasn’t crazy for the color I would have kept this if I didn’t already own similar.
