It’s always fun to look back at my purchases throughout the year and identify the pieces that became wardrobe staples. Sometimes I was surprised by how much use I got out of an item and some were just obviously going to be front runners when I bought them. Nonetheless, this is my list of favorite purchases this year. Even though quite a few are investment pieces that were well worth the price tag, just as many are super affordable and still quality items. Overall I tend to buy more tops but I found the majority of this list is comprised of pants, shoes, and accessories.
Later this week I’ll post my “most regrettable purchases” of the year which is always interesting and useful for teaching me about mistakes I make when buying and directing my purchasing. But first, lets look at all the great things I found this year and LOVED:
J. Crew Chateau Parka in Stadium Cloth: Even though this was technically a Christmas Gift it makes the list because it’s the most beautiful parka I’ve ever owned. I often coordinate my outfits just so I can wear this coat. It’s warm and the color is striking. I own similar versions from J. Crew factory in grey and apricot but this one is definitely my favorite. You can see me wear it here.
F21 Cable Knit Sweater: The only top that made my favorites list this year but it’s so obvious why. This sweater is so cozy I reach for it whenever I can and dress it both up and down. It was super inexpensive too! See me wear it here.
Baublebar Amazon Bib: Are you guys sick of seeing me wear this yet? It adds a beautiful pop to just about any outfit. Initially I wasn’t sure if I could pull off such a statement piece but I can’t believe what a fantastic addition it’s made to my wardrobe. See me wear it here and here.
Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant Necklace: This is the item I’ve gotten the most wear out of this year. I wear it several times weekly. When in doubt, I wear this necklace and it always adds a subtle yet pretty touch. See me wear it here and here.
Steve Madden Nollla Mules: These were the coolest shoes I purchased this year. They took me through spring, summer, and fall so I got a ton of wear out of them. I love the way they look with both jeans and shorts. The peep toe was an added bonus. See me wear them here.
Sueded Ankle Boot for Women: It took me nearly a year and a half but I finally found the BEST ankle bootie! Most people are shocked to find out these are from Old Navy – which also means they are very affordable. I also own them in Olive! See me wear them here.
Converse Chuck Taylor Shoreline Sneaker: My go-to casual sneaker! These go with everything. And they are slip-on which is a huge bonus in my book. They stay on and don’t hurt my heels. See me wear them here.
Vince Camuto Melaya OTK Boot: Even though these are currently sold out they will come back in stock – so keep an eye out. Initially I had a similar pair of Steve Madden OTK boots which I loved but my puppy chewed up the soles 😦 I do like the color of these better and wear them as often as I can! Not only are they gorgeous but they are warm! See me wear them here.
BLANKNYC Skinny Dipper: When you think of your favorite pair of jeans usually an older pair that are faded and worn out in all the right places come to mind. These jeans remind me of a the way a “favorite pair” fit, only they are less than a year old. They have a super slimming fit and great distressing. See me wear them here.
Free People Destroyed Skinny Jean: Another pair of jeans with a slimming fit and perfect distressing. I own these in white and black and wear them all the time. They are available in other colors too but they often sell out so you have to keep an eye out for them to come back in stock. See me wearing them here.
AG ‘The Legging’ Ankle Jeans: These are pricey but have turned out to be way worth the investment. With perfect distressing and fit I wear them all the time. So far they aren’t showing any signs of stretching, fading, or wear. See me wearing them here.
What do you think? What are your favorite purchases of the year?
