Trunk Club For Women: Fall 2016

Trunk Club for Women: Fall 2016 ||

It’s been a few months since I requested a Trunk but with fall quickly approaching I couldn’t help myself. I have had a few things on my fall “wishlist” that I was eager to start trying on. On my Pinterest Trunk Club board I added fall boots and bags as well as skinny jeans and my stylist delivered! This was my favorite trunk so far and I feel like such a summer traitor saying that I can’t wait for fall now! Keep reading to learn more about Trunk Club – if you are already familiar skip right down to the review.

Trunk Club:

1. Sign up and take a very brief style survey. You’ll fill out a personal profile and provide your stylist with links to your Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

2. Your stylist will handpick a selection of items for you to review online. After you provide your feedback, and your trunk is finalized, it’s shipped directly to your house.

3. You have 5 days to try on and decide on which items to keep. They provide you with shipping labels and tape strips so when you’re ready to ship the rest back, you schedule a pickup with UPS.

4. Fees: A $25 home try-on fee is charged to your account per trunk and this cash is credited towards any purchase you make.

What to Expect:

Your stylist is YOURS. Like, forever. She (or he) will want to get to know you. My stylist sent me an email with very specific style questions. Additionally, your stylist will expect communication via a telephone call, which I thought was required but others have said they didn’t have to participate in this part of this service (I could have done without). On the other hand, if that’s your thing, you can call your stylist whenever you want.

The clothing inventory is pulled from NORDSTROM, so there’s a vast selection at a wide range of price points. Be sure to point out to your stylist where you’d like to stay, price-wise or you will receive a $300 cashmere sweater.

You will be sent 10-15 pieces ranging from tops, bottoms, shoes, scarves, and accessories. Really, ask for anything. During your preview you can remove items from your trunk and they won’t be sent. Your stylist may add new items for you before sending so some of what you receive is a surprise.

Ask for a trunk whenever you want. This is more of a concierge service than a scheduled delivery. If requesting a trunk for a specific event allow enough time for communication and for your stylist to pull pieces and ship.

A sincere huge THANK YOU to all those that have allowed me to refer them! I hope you are all loving this service, I’d love to hear back from you about what you received and what you thought!

Trunk Club For Women: Fall 2016

First, here’s what I didn’t photograph:

trunkclubbagsTory Burch Nylon Tote | Louise et Cie Shoulder Bag | Street Level Tote

Tory Burch Nylon Tote: This is a great fall color but just not what I’m looking for in shape and material.
Louise et Cie: I adored this but didn’t love the price. Would I ever splurge that much on a purse? Never say never, but not on one I wouldn’t be carrying everyday for years.
Street Level Tote: I was so hopeful for the taupe street level tote but it seems darker to me in person and I wanted something lighter in color.

trunkclubfall1Caslon Skinny Jeans | Free People Wrap Shirt | Halogen Ruffle Sweater

Calson Colored Skinny Jean: These were a cool grey color but just not for me. They were a bit big too.
Free People ‘That’s a Wrap’ Shirt: I was hopeful for this tie front shirt too but the color was more of a coral/orange and it was too big and not flattering on me.
Halogen Ruffle Front Sweater: This was just too big and I didn’t need it.

AG ‘The Legging’ Ankle Jeans 10 Years Recreation $164: Sigh, Kept

Ugh, how could I not keep these jeans, they were so perfect. Of course I was rationalizing with myself that I wouldn’t buy anymore jeans for, like, years, to make up for this. I have some credit saved up from my amazing referee’s (thank you thank you thank!) so what better way to spend it than on something I love but wouldn’t normally be able to get for myself?

AG ‘The Legging’ Ankle Jeans 10 Years Recreation $164: Kept
Madewell ‘Ex Boyfriend – Barlow Plaid’ Cotton Shirt $82: Returned
BP ‘Trott’ Bootie $99: Returned

The plaid shirt was great: great quality, fit great, great fall colors. I have one similar so I didn’t keep it. The jeans I kept because I’m in love. And the boots: I requested these but they just didn’t look great on me. The color wasn’t really what I was looking for nor did they flatter my stature. They were a little darker than I wanted too.

AG Ankle Super Skinny Jeans Coal Blue $168: Kept
Halogen Asymmetrical Sleeveless Tunic Sweater $79: Returned
Steve Madden ‘Eternul’ Over the Knee Boot $169: Kept

Oh my gosh I wanted this whole outfit. The tunic was a little bit too big so I would’ve needed a smaller size. I ultimately didn’t ask for an exchange because it’s sleeveless and the reality is that I’m always freezing and sleeveless and isn’t a logical option for me. The jeans are another investment piece but I couldn’t resist once I had them on. The boots – I’ve had OTK on my wishlist since last year so I knew I’d be making the splurge this fall. These boots are amazing, I love the color, the quality is perfect and they are comfortable. I can’t wait to wear them! Here are a few more photos of the jeans and boots:

Topshop ‘Meg’ Zip Pocket Coat $110: Kept

I loved this basic striped tank but because I splurged on so many other pieces this round I had to make some sacrifices and this was one. This gorgeous emerald coat was a different story, however! The one sent in my trunk was too large (I have it pinned back in the photo) but after messaging my stylist about the size issue she is sending me a smaller version. As long as that works out I plan on keeping it.

Trunk Club for Women: Fall 2016 ||

Wasn’t this one of the best trunks ever!? Between the jeans, boots, and coat I think I’m already set for fall and it’s not even September yet. I’m still on the hunt for booties and handbags, but we’ll work on that for the next trunk 😉
