Trunk Club for Women: Summer 2016 II

Trunk Club For Women Review: Summer 2016 II | www.pearlsandsportsbras.com |

This time around I didn’t actually request a Trunk. My stylist found a few things she wanted me to try and who am I to complain about a box of clothes to try on arriving at my door? She’s been sending flared jeans for me to try for fall but they’ve all been way too long (as you can see in this Trunk Review post) so she sent some petite options. This trunk also included a bunch of GORGEOUS dresses and pretty summer tops! If you’re interested in Trunk Club, keep reading, if you are already familiar with this service, just skip right down to the review!

Trunk Club:

1. Sign up and take a very brief style survey. You’ll fill out a personal profile and provide your stylist with links to your Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

2. Your stylist will handpick a selection of items for you to review online. After you provide your feedback, and your trunk is finalized, it’s shipped directly to your house.

3. You have 5 days to try on and decide on which items to keep. They provide you with shipping labels and tape strips so when you’re ready to ship the rest back, you schedule a pickup with UPS.

4. Fees: A $25 home try-on fee is charged to your account per trunk and this cash is credited towards any purchase you make.

What to Expect:

Your stylist is YOURS. Like, forever. She (or he) will want to get to know you. My stylist sent me an email with very specific style questions. Additionally, your stylist will expect communication via a telephone call, which I thought was required but others have said they didn’t have to participate in this part of this service (I could have done without). On the other hand, if that’s your thing, you can call your stylist whenever you want.

The clothing inventory is pulled from NORDSTROM, so there’s a vast selection at a wide range of price points. Be sure to point out to your stylist where you’d like to stay, price-wise or you will receive a $300 cashmere sweater.

You will be sent 10-15 pieces ranging from tops, bottoms, shoes, scarves, and accessories. Really, ask for anything. During your preview you can remove items from your trunk and they won’t be sent. Your stylist may add new items for you before sending so some of what you receive is a surprise.

Ask for a trunk whenever you want. This is more of a concierge service than a scheduled delivery. If requesting a trunk for a specific event allow enough time for communication and for your stylist to pull pieces and ship.

A sincere huge THANK YOU to all those that have allowed me to refer them! I hope you are all loving this service, I’d love to hear back from you about what you received and what you thought!

Trunk Club for Women: Summer 2016 II

First, here’s what I didn’t photograph:

trunkclubjuly3
7 For All Mankind Jeans | Paige Bootcut Jeans | KUT from the Kloth Jacket | Halogen Tee | Halogen Tank

7 For All Mankind Bootcut Jeans: This is the first pair of 7 For All Mankind that I’ve ever tried and I really liked the denim and fit. They were sent in petite sizing so they length was only long enough for sandals, I couldn’t wear them with heels or boots.
Paige Denim Bootcut Jeans: If you haven’t slid on a pair of Paige Denim yet, you’re missing out! These were also in petite and were too short for me even just worn barefoot.
KUT from the Kloth Denim Jacket: This was a nice white denim jacket, I just wasn’t interested in owning it.
Halogen Lace Overlay Tee: This tee was ok, but just not for me.
Halogen Eyelet Shell Tank: Another nice top. This would have been nice for work but it wasn’t double-lined so it was completely see-through and I didn’t feel like finding a matching tank to wear under it.

Street Level Reversible Faux Leather Tote and Wristlet $48: Kept

This has been on my personal wishlist for a long time so I knew when it was coming my way I would be keeping it. It’s such a great price for a large, heavy-duty tote that’s also very light. I prefer it with the cognac on the outside.

Gorjana Powerstone Semiprecious Stone Bracelet $38: Returned

When I saw the preview of this item I thought I’d probably keep it but when I looked at it in person it seemed like something I could make myself. It just didn’t seem like it was worth the price and I had to admit I do not believe in the “positive vibrations” of a bracelet, as it claims.

Hinge Short Sleeve Lace Tee $78: Returned
Treasure&Bond Crop Skinny Jeans $98 (on sale for $58.80): Kept

DSC_1261DSC_1276DSC_1280Lace Tee | Crop Jeans (sale!) | Sandals

This lace top is very pretty. I loved the pattern and it was very soft and comfortable. It doesn’t come with an attached tank underneath so I’m wearing it here with an off-white cami. I wished it was a little bit longer. I have a similar top (although I admit I liked this one better), so I sadly had to send this one back.

These jeans! I’m in love! My stylist sent them because they were similar to a pair I had liked in a previous Trunk but were too big. They fit flawlessly, I was so surprised by how flattering they were as that isn’t always true of lighter colors. Speaking of the color, I don’t have a pair in this wash so I’m excited to add it to my wardrobe.

Hinge Embroidered V-Neck Blouse $78 (on sale for $46.80): Returned

This was a comfortable and flowy top that I liked a lot. I thought it fit well and was only slightly sheer. I have a similar top so I sent it back otherwise I would have wanted to keep it.

State Cold Shoulder Peasant Top $89: Returned

Ugh, isn’t this top gorgeous? At first I thought for sure I was going to hate it because I really don’t like anything orange, including vegetables. And then I put it on and loved it. I know you’re wondering why I sent it back, and it’s because I don’t need yet another off-the-shoulder top. I’ve purchased way too many lately. Though, if this had come in a different color I might not have been able to show the same self restraint.

Halogen Back Bodice Overlay Cotton Fit & Flare Dress $119: Returned

I really liked the style and pattern of this dress. I wanted this for work but it wasn’t an option because of the opening in the back. There was also a bit too much “flare” for me too, I thought it made my hips appear larger.

Adelyn Rae Strappy Back Fit & Flare Dress $88: Returned

Loved everything about this dress! My favorites are the high-neck and of course, the strappy back. The detail in the hem is great too. I also loved the color. I shouldn’t have sent it back, why did I?

Felicity & Coco Back Cutout Fit & Flare Dress $128: Returned

DSC_1375DSC_1379DSC_1382dress | shoes

The print of this dress is beautiful, isn’t it? It was very comfortable. I have to admit, with the deep V in the front and almost the entire back being open I thought it was too sexy for any event I’d be going to so that’s why I sent it back.

Felicity & Coco Seamed Pencil Dress $98: Returned

DSC_1409DSC_1396Dress (many colors!) | Necklace | Shoes

I’m not entirely sure why my stylist sent me this dress because I’m short and a little curvy and this dress is made for someone tall and lean. As much as I love the dress, I acknowledge I could never wear this and be comfortable. I was sucking it in so hard in these photos it was painful. It’s a great dress though! It had a zipper that ran the entire way down the back that I forgot to photograph, sorry!

For a surprise Trunk I thought this was a pretty great one! I’m super in love with the cropped jeans I kept and I can’t wait to start using my tote. I also thought the variety of dresses and tops were perfect for summer.
