Do I even need to say it? Summer is coming. Disregard the bipolar weather (I mean seriously, 70 degrees one day, snow and hail the next. Whatever). I won’t spend too much time harping on the unfortunate and yet also lovely idea that bathing suits will soon be a wardrobe staple. But it’s the truth. Luckily, we still have plenty of time to work some stuff out before that first dreaded pasty bathing suit reveal.

I’ll be stepping into my shorts and bathing suits sooner than I’m used to (though I can hardly pretend to complain about it) for an upcoming trip to Florida in the beginning of May. I have to admit that after I finished Beachbody’s 60 day Hammer and Chisel I’ve fallen off the bandwagon just a little. I’ve been doing a random hodgepodge of exercises here and there and “dieting” hasn’t truly been much of a concern. I always get a little uneasy when I don’t have a plan or direction as far as fitness goes, because motivation is hard to sustain without any real goals. So, in a effort to get back on track I’ve created a 4-Week Beachbody Hybrid Exercise Schedule. Over time I’ve accumulated quite a few DVD workout programs from this company but you don’t need to own any to join in on this fun with me. Beachbody provides an on-demand streaming service where you can access all of these workouts, and many more, as a subscriber. They are offering a free 30-day trial right now if you want to give it a try.

For this hybrid schedule, I’ve chosen workouts from Insanity, Insanity Max:30, T25, and P90x3. These are my favorite programs because they are the most effective and pack a lot of punch in just 25-40 minutes. Each week includes 5 exercise days and 2 rest days. To create a balanced program, I’ve organized the weeks so that each includes a day devoted to either cardio, core, upper body, lower body, or “everything”.
