Adult Coloring Books
You guys! Have you heard of adult coloring books yet? If not, let me tell you….
Adult coloring books are appealing for the obvious reasons, they offer something fun and creative to do, but there are other benefits. They are supposed to be stress-relieving. The act of coloring is also said to help with anxiety, high blood pressure, and pain.
Earlier this spring I was stressed and though I get migraines several times per week, I was getting them almost every single day. I was so miserable I was willing to try anything to see if it’d help. Somehow, I came across the idea of “adult coloring books” and even though I wasn’t optimistic that they’d help at all with my headaches (in fact I was pretty sure it would make things worse), I couldn’t resist. I must’ve searched amazon’s entire collection of adult coloring books to find one that appealed to me. Essentially, they are intricate drawings which are meant to be colored or added to. I bought this one titled Secret Garden (from Barnes and Noble, Amazon was sold out, but they are back in stock now).
I think this book is amazing! Even without coloring a single page, it’s one of the most beautiful books I own. I find coloring to be fun and relaxing and it’s great to shut all responsibility off and be creative, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
Here’s a peak at my coloring book:
