Hey friends! I thought I’d take some time to catch up with you guys 🙂
I’ve been absent all week because of work. Remember how mama said “There’d be days like this”? Well, there will be weeks like this, I say. I don’t have much control over my schedule and this week was certainly a “from dusk till dawn” doozy. I will always try to blog at least 1-2 times per week, but sometimes I’ll have to be a “weekend” blogger….. such is life.
For those of you following for my Insanity Max:30 review, I promise I am still planning to post. I had to take 2 weeks off because I was sick (ugh), and then last week I had to take off because of my work schedule. I have 2 weeks left in Month 2, and plan on restarting tomorrow morning (eek). My review will be a little skewed because after a 3 week break I’m feeling a little de-conditioned, but I will get through it and post a review for you, look out for that in the coming weeks 🙂
Now…. on to some fun things. Today was daylight savings and for the northeast, it marks one of the first sunny non-frigid days we’ve had in a while. There was some warmth to the sun and FINALLY not an ounce of horrid precipitation. It was a beautiful thing.
Naturally, for those of you that are like me drowning in the winter blues, days like today make our brains fast-forward to spring and we can’t help but get a little (a lot) excited.
Here are some springy things for you!
Prior years it was flats, and recently, boat shoes. This year, casual sneaks. Specifically, Converses. They are classic and go well with super tight skinnies, shorts, and rolled boyfriend capris.
I’ve never been all that enthusiastic about Converses (Quit rolling your eyes, neither were you until this year), they just aren’t “me”. But if I were to give them a shot, I’d go with these incredible simple styles that somehow ARE very much my style:
I’m not sure if I’ll be grabbing a pair, as I’ve already got 50 gazillion shoes in my closet, so we’ll see. In lieu of Converses, this is what I have in my “casual shoe/sneaker” department to start the SPRING season off:
White Keds: from Shoe department for < $30 last season. I wore these babies with EVERYTHING! Leggings to the airport, skinnies and capris. Remind me of the early 90’s but love them anyway!
Tan Polo Boat shoes: these also go with juts about anything. Casual and nautical.
Grey/Navy Keds Boat shoes: I bought these on clearance at the end of last season
Black Nikes: screw the converses, if you don’t already have casual sporty sneaks, move them to the top of your wishlist. I found these babies at a Nike outlet for $34!! I also LOVE these Black Women’s New Balance
The Nike’s are really casual and perfect for running errands. I’d love to say I was having a lazy day…. but this is pretty much me on a weekend. 😉 How do you make your bum-style presentable?
Essie strikes again. They honestly don’t put out the best polish, as far as quality goes, but they nail it (pun intended) ALL THE TIME with color. I find their polish irresistible. Really, like I can’t stop buying them. Sometimes 3 at a time. Here are my spring picks:
Sugar daddy: you can read about this polish, as I rave about it in this post 🙂
Topless and Barefoot
Comfy in Cashmere
*Comfy in Cashmere and Coat Couture are new releases from their “Cashmere Matte line”
If you haven’t already, go ahead and scan this post. It’s all about Nautical accessories and Crystal quartz- both of which are big (and super beautiful) this spring.
I recently picked up this statement necklace at a J. CREW outlet – all jewelry was 50%
With pastels, brights, and floral prints being so popular this spring, this bold piece is the perfect accent for a nice POP. I have big plans for this sucker so stay tuned 😉
What do you think? As always, thanks for following and stopping by!
