The dog. The dog is the baby.
And she’s 1! Time flies!
I try to keep the blog from getting too personal and focus on what you guys are here to read about – health, fitness, lifestyle, and home. She’s practically the site mascot, as she makes an (uninvited) appearance in a significant amount of photos and by now, if you follow, she might actually feel like she’s part your puppy too. At least her instagram followers feel this way…..
She is a cockapoo mix: her dad is a miniature poodle and her mom is a “cockalier” which is a cocker spaniel and cavalier king charles mix. Yes, she’s a super mutt.
I got her for my birthday last year. It had been a year since we lost our childhood dog, a Lhasa-poo (Lhasa apso poodle mix). She was with us for nearly 2 decades! I’m sure you know how devastating losing your best friend can be. I was terrified to get a puppy – afraid I wouldn’t be able to keep the thing alive and afraid of going through losing another animal.
Fortunately, I was told I was getting a puppy for my birthday and I didn’t have a choice. So, I scooped her up, and her sister too (for my Dad, we share a birthday and we could tell he missed having a doggy around). Her name is Aylah and her sissy’s name is Lylah. Here’s a catalog of their first year – who doesn’t love an entire post of puppies?

The day we gave my Dad his puppy (I cried….. sigh. I got attached to both). Aylah and Lylah’s last little nap together (though not forever, they have sleepovers all the time 😉 )

That time I dressed her up as a baby:
That time I dressed her up as a shark (the costume was for halloween, but I got stuck at work and we missed the trick or treaters…. this was punishment for chewing up mommy’s favorite boots 😉 )
The night she woke up from sleep and tore up an entire insulation mat while her parents were sleeping:
When she stopped posing for pictures:
Summertime: a trip to the beach and reunited with her Sissy
Fall (which is really the time I waited too long to get her groomed 😉 )

Happy birthday Aylah:
She truly is my best friend ❤ The epitome of a loving, sweet, happy lap dog. I could spend all day every day with her. I’m lucky to have her in my life and I hope you all enjoy seeing her throughout the blog 😉
Oh, and Lylah too!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed all the cuteness 🙂
