DIY Gift Idea: Manicure in a Jar

Processed with VSCOcam with s3 preset

Need a quick and simple gift idea for a pretty lady in your life?

Mason jar gifts work wonderfully for anything from brownie mixes to snow globes. I found inspiration for this gift set here and here, knowing it would come in handy over the holidays.

These days old mason jars are a dime a dozen (ok, not quite a dime….. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) I have a TON of them from my wedding and have been waiting to put them to good use.

I purchased a few cases of these to decorate the courtyard for my wedding:

Sadly, the jars have just been sitting in a box in my basement. Every now and then they run across my mind and I make a quick mental note to try and find something crafty to do with them and I think this is a good way to start!

The jars just needed a quick scrub and they were ready to be stuffed with goodies! I’m so glad I left the ribbon on, it’s a pretty accent to the nail colors I chose.

What to include in your manicure jar:

1. Polish – I chose gel nail polish. I included 1 color and 1 gel top coat
2. Nail polish remover. I included remover pads as I wasn’t confident the bottled remover would fit
3. Cotton balls! They pull double duty as a good filler as well ๐Ÿ˜‰
4. Nail care kit: usually contains hand and toe clippers, emery board, and cuticle tool
5. Hand cream

You could also include base coat, nail strengthener, cuticle cream, glitter, nail embellishments, hand/foot scrub, pumice stone…….
